A co-worker and I were discussing motorcycle crashes and helmet laws in South Carolina. I made the observation that SC did at one time have a helmet law, a few years ago.
After this conversation, I checked, and the South Carolina helmet law was repealed for cyclists over twenty-one in 1980.
Nineteen Eighty.
Twenty-eight years.
Most people alive don't even remember that far back. History tells me that's correct, but my memory can't quite grasp it.
